Oregon 2019

For our 20 year wedding anniversary, we decided to explore Oregon. Oregon has a beautiful coastline, a national park, tons of microbreweries, and a booming wine country. We booked a five night stay to celebrate and enjoy this lovely state.

Sunday

Portland to Eugene

We arrived in Portland Sunday morning. We rented a car from Avis - we reserved a compact car but we got a free upgrade to a Mitsubishi Outlander!

On the way to Eugene, we stopped by some wineries. Our favorite was Erath Winery, in Dundee:

We decided to stay in Eugene for most of our Oregon trip. Robar really wanted to visit Crater Lake National Park, which is on the south side of the state. We booked an Airbnb house and it was pretty cool.

Monday

Eugene to Crater Lake National Park

We woke up early on Monday and headed to Crater Lake National Park.

Oregon is known its many beautiful waterfalls. Unfortunately, we only got to see one. On the way to Crater Lake, we made a quick stop to check out Salt Creek Falls:

When we first arrived at Crater Lake, it was fairly early, and there was a lot of cloud cover. We were concerned we weren't going to get any good views of the lake.

Thankfully, later in the morning (and as we got closer to the lake), the fog lifted!

Bend, OR

Robar was really excited about the opportunity to visit the Deschutes Brewery in Bend.

Robar sampled a few beers before the tour!

The tour was pretty cool, but Robar doesn't remember too much after the pre-tour flight. :)

Tuesday - Winery Tour

We booked a Willamette Valley Wine Tour that started from Eugene. It was supposed to be a group tour, but we were the only ones who booked so basically got a private escort to visit three wineries in the Willamette Valley!
